It was a fitting final. Tundra had not lost a single series across the entire tournament — finishing second in the group stage on points before going through the upper bracket without dropping a series. Team Yandex came through the lower bracket final, defeating Xtreme Gaming 2–0 to earn their shot at revenge after losing to Tundra in the upper bracket final. They pushed Tundra harder than anyone else at the event. They just couldn’t win four maps.

How the Tournament Unfolded

The group stage (22–26 March) ran in two round-robin groups of eight, with all matches played in a Bo2 format. Tundra Esports and Aurora Gaming were the standout performers, both advancing to the upper bracket without dropping a series. Team Yandex, riding momentum from their PGL Wallachia Season 7 victory, also impressed — as did Team Spirit and MOUZ.

Notable group stage exits: OG and Nigma Galaxy, both predicted to reach the top 8–10, failed to advance. Among the surprises — PV defeated Team Falcons 2–0 in the playoff first round, one of the results of the tournament.

The playoff bracket (27–29 March at bp pulse LIVE) followed a double-elimination format, with all matches Bo3 and the grand final Bo5. Tundra’s route through the upper bracket was dominant throughout — they defeated PARIVISION 2–0, then beat Team Yandex 2–0 in the upper bracket final. The final day delivered a competitive grand final despite Tundra’s unbeaten record across the event.

What It Means for the ESL Pro Tour

ESL One Birmingham was the third point-scoring event of the 2025/26 ESL Pro Tour season. Based on their EPT points from Birmingham, five teams have now qualified for the Esports World Cup 2026: Tundra Esports, Team Yandex, Xtreme Gaming, Aurora Gaming, and PARIVISION.

Team Liquid — notably absent from Birmingham after their Western Europe Closed Qualifier run ended against MOUZ — dropped further in the EPT standings. Team Falcons and BetBoom Team also need strong performances at upcoming events to recover their positions.
